About Staff Selection Commission Recruitment:

SSC {Staff Selection Commission} is an Organization under the Government of India and also SSC recruits the staff for various posts in various ministries and certain departments of Government of India.

SSC CGL means Staff Selection Commission – Combined Graduate Level Examination is the exam to recruit staff to various posts in ministries, departments and organizations and also it conducts Exam to select staff for various Group B and Group C posts SSC Recruits thousands of vacancies  Every year in Government departments. Candidates have to complete a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university

The age requirements for the candidates to apply are between 20 to 30 year

Scheme of Exam:

Tier I: Preliminary

This is an objective type exam with 4 sections

  • General Intelligence and Reasoning
  • General Awareness
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • English Comprehension

The exam was typically scored with a maximum of 50 Marks per section for a total of 200 Marks. The latest versions of this exam of SSC such as with 2018 have been conducted online.

After Tier I exam qualified candidates can then take the Tier II and Tier III exams.

Tier II: Mains Exam

This is the Mains Exam, the Tier II exam consists of the objective type exam, in four sections (also called “Papers”),

  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • English Language and Comprehension
  • Statistics
  • General Studies
    • Finance & Accounting
    • Economics & Governance.

The max score of this exam is0 200 Marks per section. Most positions required the candidate to take only the first two sections (Paper-I: QA, Paper-II: English Language), but certain positions require the third or fourth section. The updated versions of this exam such as the 2018 edition.

Tier III exam: Descriptive Paper

An “offline” exam in which candidates have to write in the form of essay writing and letter writing, sometimes précis and application writing.

Tier IV exam:

  • Data Entry Speed Test (DEST): candidates enter data at the rate of 2000 key presses in 15 minutes. This is mainly for posts such as Tax Assistant. (Central Excise & IT)
  • Computer Proficiency Test (CPT): it consists of word processing, spreadsheets, and making slides.

Other exams

  • Personality Test / Interview (discontinued starting 2016)
  • Physical Endurance Test / Medical Examination for CPO

If the candidate wants to join in SSC CGL must have attained the age of 18 years and must not have attained the age of 27 years as on 01-08-2015. In this Recruitment, There are relaxations for various such as Defence, SC/ST, etc.
